2021-01-12T08:04+11:00

Hawthorn has stood down Jonathon Patton as the club investigates allegations that he sent lewd photos and messages to women on social media.

Multiple women have come forward to the Herald Sun with stories about the key forward, while others have spoken out about their experiences on social media.

Patton was absent from Hawthorn training on Monday.

The Hawks released a statement on Monday night.

“Hawthorn Football Club has stood down Jonathon Patton from all club commitments until the completion of its investigation into allegations of Patton’s inappropriate behaviour on social media.”

“The club’s Integrity Committee met this afternoon and will continue to ascertain all relevant information.”

Patton played six games for the Hawks in 2020, dealing with ongoing injury issues.
