Demons defender to miss 2021 season after ACL injury

2021-01-24T09:53+11:00

Melbourne defender Marty Hore will miss the entire 2021 season after rupturing his ACL.

Hore, who missed all of 2020 through injury, was tackled during a training session on Friday and immediately felt for his left knee.

Melbourne GM of Football Performance Alan Richardson says the 24-year-old will be sidelined for an “extended period of time”.

“Unfortunately, the scans have confirmed that Marty has ruptured his ACL and will miss an extended period of time,” Richardson told Melbourne’s website.

“This is devastating news for Marty and the club, as he was preparing for the season ahead.”

Hore has played 14 games since he was selected by Melbourne as a mature-age recruit in the 2018 draft.
