Vossy’s NRL Crystal Ball: Top 8, Runner-up and Premiers for season 2021

2021-02-17T07:32+11:00

With Round 1 of the NRL again fast approaching, SEN 1170’s Andrew Voss has looked into his crystal ball and predicted his top eight, premier and runner-up for the 2021 season.

Voss picked two sides who made the finals in 2020 to miss in 2021, and surprisingly has one of the competition favourites outside of the top four.

The Fox League expert has the Gold Coast and Manly sneaking in, while Cronulla and Newcastle miss out after playing finals last year.

“From the top eight in 2020, I’ve got the Knights and the Sharks out, and I’ve got the Sea Eagles and the Titans in,” Voss said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“Looking into my crystal ball… I have got the Titans eight and the Sea Eagles seventh.”

Despite making a Preliminary Final and Grand Final respectively last year, Voss has both Canberra and Penrith as sliders in 2021.

“I’ve got the Raiders sixth and the Panthers fifth, I’ve got them (Penrith) outside the top four because I think they overachieved last year,” he said.

Voss’ top four sees South Sydney feature after a strong end to their 2020 season, while Parramatta, Sydney and Melbourne round out the highest finishers, with the Storm being crowned as back-to-back premiers.

“For my top four I have the Eels fourth, the Roosters third and the Rabbitohs and the Storm are the top two and they are my Grand Finalists,” he added.

“I think it could be a massive story come Grand Final night, Storm v Rabbitohs, Bellamy v Bennett.

“It could be the last game those men actually have as head coaches of sides in the NRL.

“But who’s going to be premier? I’m saying the Melbourne Storm are going to win the comp again this year.”

Check out Vossy’s Top 8 below:

1 Melbourne Storm (Premier)
2 South Sydney Rabbitohs (Runner-up)
3 Sydney Roosters
4 Parramatta Eels
5 Penrith Panthers
6 Canberra Raiders
7 Manly Sea Eagles
8 Gold Coast Titans
