Melbourne signs Majak Daw on deadline day

2021-03-09T12:58+11:00

Majak Daw will play for Melbourne in 2021, earning a second chance via the supplemental selection period.

The deadline for signing players is today, with the Demons making the call after a meeting with the 29-year-old on Monday night, according to SEN Chief Reporter Sammy Edmund.

Daw played 54 games for North Melbourne after being selected in the 2015 Rookie Draft.

His best season came in 2018, where he found a home as an intercept marking defender.

The versatile tall can also play through the ruck and up forward, where the Demons need depth.

Both Ben Brown and Sam Weideman are set to miss the start of the 2021 season with injuries.

They have also signed Deakyn Smith out of Melbourne’s Next Generation Academy
