2021-03-12T09:04+11:00

AFL Nation returns bigger and better in 2021 with Australia’s best race caller Matt Hill making his calling debut with the AFL Nation commentary team as part of an all-star cast primed and ready for season 2021.

Hill will be joined by fellow new recruit Sportsday’s Gerard Healy who courtesy of Nine Radio, also adds his expertise to the AFL Nation team this season.

Courtesy of Racing Victoria and racing.com, Hill will appear as a guest caller for select Sunday matches throughout the season.

The pair join an established call team headed by SEN’s Chief Sports Caller Gerard Whateley with Kane Cornes, Dwayne Russell, Anthony Hudson, Daisy Pearce, Robert Murphy, Jordan Lewis, Malcom Blight, Nick Dal Santo, Adam Cooney, Andy Maher, Liam Pickering and Paul Hasleby and plus other experts in each state.

Sports Entertainment Network CEO Craig Hutchison said Hill was an exciting signing.

“Matt is the best race caller in Australia – and one of the country’s top all-round sports commentators – touted by many as the next ‘Bruce McAvaney’, so we are absolutely thrilled to have him on our call team this year as a guest caller around his racing commitments,” Hutchison said.

“We are also delighted to welcome Sportsday’s Gerard Healy who will add immeasurable insight to our play-by-play analysis. We are proud to have assembled many of the best sports broadcasters in the business to call all of the gameday action.”

Footy fans can access the AFL Nation call live and crystal clear on the SEN app, at AFLnation.com.au, as well as AFL.com.au, the AFL app and across more than 200 radio frequencies nationally.

In addition, AFL Nation will also again deliver parochial calls around the country through a one-eyed lens!

AFL Nation boasts a broadcast reach of over 70 markets across every metropolitan market and regional Australia. It will broadcast and syndicate all nine matches each weekend to all parts of the country plus to Sports Entertainment Network’s own SEN stations.
