Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield has been suspended for three weeks for his bump on Adelaide defender Jake Kelly.
After Tuesday night's Tribunal hearing, Dangerfield will now miss the Cats' next three games against Brisbane, Hawthorn and Melbourne.
Dangerfield's bump saw Kelly stretchered off the Adelaide Oval with concussion and a broken nose.
Match Review Officer Michael Christian initially graded the impact as severe, which saw the 2016 Brownlow Medallist referred directly to the Tribunal.
Earlier on Monday, Dangerfield outlined his defence for the bump, saying it was important for players to protect themselves on the field as well as those around them.
“I think it’s easy to review something at 30 frames per second,” Dangerfield told reporters.
“As much as you have due diligence to look after the health and safety of those around you, you have to look after yourself as well.”
Dangerfield is now ineligible to win the 2021 Brownlow Medal.
