"Very disappointing": Season over for new Crow

2021-03-30T16:20+11:00

Adelaide’s Mitch Hinge will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.

Hinge, who joined the Crows from Brisbane during the off-season, will undergo season-ending surgery on his right shoulder this week.

The 22-year-old dislocated his shoulder twice on debut in Adelaide’s Round 1 win over Geelong.

Crows Head of Football Adam Kelly confirmed the former Lion will be unavailable for the remainder of 2021.

“Very disappointing for Mitch Hinge, he’ll undergo shoulder surgery this week,” Kelly said via a club statement.

“We decided that was the best course of action for his long-term health.

“He’ll now be unavailable for the rest of the season.”

Hinge played three games for Brisbane before taking up a two-year deal at the Crows.

The news comes after veteran defender Daniel Talia earlier revealed he had suffered an injury setback.

In a welcome boost, Adelaide pair Luke Brown (Achilles’ soreness) and Jake Kelly (concussion) are both expected to be available for selection this week.

The Crows host Gold Coast at Adelaide Oval on Friday night.
