Crows set for “short-term” move to new home base

2021-04-01T17:09+11:00

Adelaide is set to relocate their home base to Thebarton, according to SEN SA host Michelangelo Rucci.

The Crows have been based at Football Park since they joined the AFL in 1991 and have continued to train at West Lakes since moving home games to Adelaide Oval in 2014.

Rucci understands Adelaide will train at Thebarton for up to five years.

“We know they have a working committee looking at where they will build their club base away from Football Park, West Lakes,” he told SEN SA’s Kymbo and The Rooch.

“It’s quite clear they’re out of Football Park as soon as they can possibly do so. They’re very sensitive about not only building a training facility but a club base for their fans.

“It looks like at this point, this is not at the end of the working party’s findings, but where they’re heading at the moment is to accept Thebarton is the short-term solution as a training venue.

“Two grounds, train there probably for five years.

“Thebarton for about five years as a short-term option away from Football Park.”
