Adelaide captain Rory Sloane has been ruled out for up to a month with an eye injury.
The star midfielder reported blurry vision to the club doctors during training on Thursday.
He will now undergo surgery for a detached retina.
Crows Head of Football Adam Kelly confirmed the news on Friday.
“Rory’s health and wellbeing is obviously our number one priority,” Kelly told the club’s website.
“At this stage, it is hard to give a definitive date on when he will return to the field but we are hopeful of it being in the vicinity of 2-4 weeks.”
The Crows take on North Melbourne this weekend.
JAMES RAHILLY | It all happened to be honest. Rory (Sloane) had a bit of blurred vision yesterday. He saw the specialist today and has been told he has to have a small procedure on the eye.
