Kane's over/unders: Brad Hill to find his form, Dusty to run riot and more

2021-04-09T11:10+10:00

On SEN’s The Captain’s Run, Kane Cornes was posed five over or under scenarios pertaining to the current footy narratives.

Cornes was asked to declare his thoughts on the scenarios and whether they would meet the over/under mark.

Here’s how he went:

OVER/UNDER: 2021 Coleman Medal leader Taylor Walker averages just 2.2 goals per game against North Melbourne. Pencil him in for six against North on Sunday.

Kane says: UNDER

“I think Tex is good for four against North Melbourne."

“His career average is low against North, but we’ll back him in for four goals on Sunday.”

OVER/UNDER: Under-fire St Kilda wingman Brad Hill averages just 17 disposals in 2021. He’ll collect 20 touches against West Coast on Sunday.

Kane says: OVER

“He’d want to get over, he’s under the pump. Will he hold his spot in the side, firstly? We’ll find that out today."

“I think he will, you’re not going to pay him $900,000 a year for six years and then not play him.

“20 is the absolute benchmark, I’m going to go 23. I think he bounces back, (there’s) a lot of room for improvement with Brad Hill at the Saints."

OVER/UNDER: Brisbane’s Charlie Cameron has got just four goals from the first three games. He’ll kick two and a half against the Dogs tomorrow.

Kane says: OVER

“I think he’s due for a bag. I reckon he goes with four goals."

“Wouldn’t it be good to see, for one of the most watchable players in the game?”

OVER/UNDER: Port Adelaide are going to let Dustin Martin run without an opponent tonight at Adelaide Oval, or will they? He’ll make them pay with 25 touches and three goals.

Kane says: OVER

“Ken Hinkley said ‘we’re going to back our system in’ which gives me shudders, it gives me nightmares."

“And if you do that, he’ll make you pay. I couldn’t back against him.

"27 and three goals for Dustin Martin, tonight.”

OVER/UNDER: Six games were decided by 30 points or more in Round 3, will it be over or under that mark in Round 4?

Kane says: UNDER

“I hope under. I loved last night’s game."

“Definitely under six, I think we’ll go with only three games decided by 30 points or more. Hopefully we have a more even contest.

“Where’s the potential for a blowout?

“I don’t think it’s tonight (between Port Adelaide and Richmond), (and) I don’t think it’s tomorrow in Ballarat (between the Western Bulldogs and Brisbane).

“You could potentially see the Eagles blow out the Saints but I don’t think they’ll do that at Marvel. That’ll be a close one as will Gold Coast and Carlton.

“Maybe Collingwood blow away the Giants at the MCG on Saturday night, that has 40 points written all over it, (and) the Crows probably beat North Melbourne by more than 30.

“Melbourne and Geelong will be a good game and Fremantle and Hawthorn will be a good game, so a great round of footy coming up.”
