What Pies fans can expect from debutant Macrae

2021-04-14T16:02+10:00

Collingwood has announced that 2020 draftee Finlay Macrae will make his AFL debut on Friday night against West Coast.

The midfielder was taken with pick 19 in last year’s draft and has quickly worked his way into the side.

Teammate John Noble outlined what Magpies fans can expect from the youngster.

“He’s a quiet, confident, achiever. He’s certainly impressed in some of our match simulation in his ability to halve a contest or even his skills, he’s a very clean, tight-knit player,” Noble told SEN’s Bob and Andy.

“He plays similarly to his brother in the sense that he can find space or change play when it looks like he shouldn’t.

“A quiet achiever, but he goes about his business in a very professional manner, holds himself very well in talking and meetings.

“He’s been nothing but impressive.”

Fin is the brother of Western Bulldogs star Jack Macrae, who had some glowing praise for the Collingwood draftee last week.

“He’s probably more skilful and a bit more versatile (than me) I think,” Jack Macrae told Sportsday.
