Growth for Sports Entertainment Network shows in Gfk Survey 2

Sports Entertainment Network reached a combined audience of 404,000 weekly listeners (All People 10+)* across its radio and DAB+ stations in Melbourne (1116 SEN, SEN Track Digital DAB+) and Sydney (1170 SEN, 2CH DAB+, SEN Track Digital & SEN Vic DAB+) in the latest Gfk survey 2 results released today.

Several of the Sports Entertainment Network's key programs saw strong audience growth. In Melbourne:
• 1116 SEN’s Breakfast with Garry Lyon & Tim Watson gained 17,000 listeners in Melbourne with a cumulative audience of 157,000 weekly listeners (All People 10+ Mon-Fri 6am-9am)
• Whateley, hosted by Gerard Whateley on 1116 SEN was up by 27,000 listeners to a cumulative audience of 131,000 weekly listeners (All People 10+ Mon-Thu 9am-12nn)
• 1116 SEN’s Drive program, Bob and Andy, hosted by Bob Murphy & Andy Maher was up 11,0000 to 158,000 listeners (All People 10+ Mon-Fri 3pm-6pm)
• The Friday morning show hosted by Kane Cornes grew by 16,000 listeners to 62,000 (Cume) (All People 10+ Fri 9a-12nn)

In Sydney, 1170 SEN's launch period continues with early growth for the Drive program Joel and Fletch, hosted by Joel Caine and Bryan Fletcher, boosting their radio audience to 24,000 listeners. They also hit #56 on the Australian Podcast Ranker All Australian Top 100 for March, released Tuesday, with 125,955 monthly podcast downloads.

Sports Entertainment Network owned station 2CH DAB+ also maintained its strong digital audience of 63,000 listeners in today's Gfk survey 2 results in Sydney.

And in other highlights from Sports Entertainment Network produced and syndicated programs:
• Great Australian Lives continues to be #1 in its timeslot on 3AW with a share of 22% and 45,000 listeners All People 10+ which is up 7,000 listeners since last survey.
• Sportsday has 173,000 listeners All People 10+ on 3AW in Melbourne, up 35,000 listeners survey on survey and remains #1 in its timeslot for Men 30+.
• Off The Bench, Saturdays 9am-12noon on 1116 SEN, rose to 81,000 listeners , gaining 25,000 listeners this survey.

The return of the AFL and NRL football seasons saw continued growth in the number of SEN podcast downloads with nine podcasts in the Australian Podcast Ranker All Australian Top 100 in March, released this week.

Breakfast with Garry Lyon & Tim Watson was up four spots to #10 and is the number one AM radio breakfast show podcast in the country. Whateley increased 5 places to #14 and remains the number one most downloaded radio show in its timeslot.

SEN SA's Breakfast duo Kane Cornes and Andrew Hayes are now officially the number one South Australian radio podcast, rising in the Australian Podcast Ranker All Australian Top 100 in March with 60,686 podcast downloads. Kane and Hayesy capped off a remarkable trifecta – the number 1 breakfast podcast, sports podcast and overall show in the SA market.

In Perth this week, Sports Entertainment Network debuted its exciting new breakfast show Gilly and Goss featuring Adam Gilchrist and Tim Gossage (Mondays and Fridays 6-8am) on SENTrack 657AM in Perth, SEN Spirit 621AM Southwest, SEN Peel on DAB+ in Mandurah, and the SEN WA channel on the SEN app.

SEN now has five dedicated local breakfast shows including: 1116 SEN Melbourne’s Breakfast with Garry & Tim; Breakfast with Andrew Voss on 1170 SEN Sydney, Pat Welsh and Ian Healy on SENTrack in Queensland and Kane Cornes and Andrew Hayes on 1629 SEN SA.

“We are proud of the vast choice of content we offer Australian sports fans each week, with both live sport broadcasts and 24/7 discussion about the biggest sports stories of the day between our highly engaged audience and Australia's best and most trusted sports broadcasters,” CEO Craig Hutchison said.
