West Coast forward Liam Ryan will be out until at least Round 10, according to a report.
Channel Seven’s Ryan Daniels is reporting that the star forward has a hot spot on his shin which will require a month off his feet and another month rebuilding fitness.
Ryan has also been playing through hip soreness.
It’s a disappointing loss for the Eagles at a crucial point of the season.
Ryan was left out of the West Coast side to take on Collingwood on Friday night, with injuries also sidelining former captain Shannon Hurn and forward Jack Petruccelle.
Alex Witherden makes his club debut, while Zac Langdon, Nathan Vardy and Xavier O’Neill return to the side.
The Eagles are now missing a fair chunk of their best 22, including star midfield duo Luke Shuey and Elliot Yeo.
All-Australian @WestCoastEagles forward Liam Ryan has a 'hot spot' on his shin. Means 3-4 wks off legs, then at least another 3-4 wks rebuilding fitness/strength.

Likely to be out until round 10, possibly longer, depending on how the bone stress heals. Shin issues can be tricky.
