The MEGT Australia Rookie of the Year votes are in for Round 6, with a bit of controversy at the top.
North Melbourne midfielder Tom Powell has received the three votes, ahead of Jacob Koschitzke and Riley Thilthorpe.
The key forward duo both kicked five goals in the Adelaide versus Hawthorn game, starring early in their career.
Powell picked up 25 disposals, took eight marks and had four score involvements in North Melbourne’s loss to Fremantle.
However, he edged out both Koschitzke and Thilthorpe in the official AFL Player Ratings.
Powell now moves to equal second in the MEGT Australia Player of the Year rankings, tied with Essendon’s Nik Cox and two behind Sydney’s Errol Gulden.
