Star Penrith halfback Nathan Cleary has extended his lead in the Dally M Medal count after a dominant performance against the Gold Coast Titans
The number seven earned another three-point game for his three-try and two try-assist outing in the final game of Magic Round.
Statistically, Cleary's game was one of the best performances in recent history, as he broke the single game record for points in both NRL Fantasy and NRL Supercoach.
The 23-year-old is the hot favourite to take out the game's highest individual honour, and rugby league great Greg Alexander has him as the best player in the competition.
"He's the best player in the comp," Alexander said on SEN 1170 Mornings.
"I know there were calls for Tommy (Trbojevic) after he had an incredible month, and since his return Manly has been a completely different side.
"But, Nathan (Cleary) has been the most consistent player without doubt over the first ten rounds.
"Penrith are ten from ten, and Nathan just controlled things yesterday.
"But, he's doing more than just controlling and managing the game, he's attacking, he scored three tries, which is incredible.
"He's in incredible form and at the moment, he's the man that holds everything together (for Penrith)."
After also being talked about as the competition's best player, Manly fullback Trbojevic continued his stunning form with his fourth best afield performance in five weeks.
He's now shot into equal fifth alongisde Melbourne Storm star Ryan Papenhuyzen, while Cleary's teammate James Fisher-Harris makes his first appearance in the top three.
