Justin Leppitsch's combined best 22 of the Brisbane and Richmond dynasties

2021-05-21T19:05+10:00

Justin Leppitsch has had the rare pleasure of being a part of two different dynasties.

He played in three premierships for the Lions across 2001, 2002 and 2003 and then served as senior assistant coach for Richmond’s three flags in 2017, 2019 and 2020.

He has attempted the unenviable task of putting together a best 22 built from the premiership stars of both teams, combining both dominant reigns into one side.

Leppitsch left himself out of the team, but named himself coach.

“The hardest part was picking the coach of the team and I’ve decided that I’m coaching the team,” he said tongue-in-cheek.

“No Dimma, no Leigh, you’re out. I never got to coach a good team. This is my team so I’m coaching it you can get stuffed,” he added.

The team has a split of 13 Lions and nine Tigers and features five Brownlow Medal winners.

“I’ve picked this team on just pure talent. Luke Power 2004 was different to Luke Power when he finished his career. It’s basically overall talent of the player in that era.”

“I’ve tried to keep it as simple as that.”
