With the first bye round coming up, we felt it was time to give the fans what they want.
The free kick ladder after Round 4 and Round 8 has given us some fascinating fodder and we all want to know what’s the latest on this front.
Which clubs seem to be on the good side with the umpires and which ones are on the nose?
Since we last visited this topic three rounds ago, there have been a couple of changes in the top five underneath the Western Bulldogs who remain top of the pops at +31.
Adelaide has dropped from second to sixth despite attracting the second most frees for, while ladder leader (on the real ladder) Melbourne has fallen two spots from fifth to seventh.
Carlton, the recipient of the most free kicks in the competition, jumps into second with Essendon replacing the Blues in fourth. North Melbourne is the other big mover, sliding into the five from eighth.
Down the other end of the street, Richmond remains public enemy number one, receiving the least free kicks while giving away the most for a significant differential of -62.
Hawthorn is also struggling on the differential while Brisbane has improved from -40 to -16, but remains in the bottom four.
