Black Caviar’s daughter to debut at Flemington

2021-06-03T11:30+10:00

A daughter of unbeaten superstar Black Caviar will debut at Flemington on Saturday.

The champion mare’s daughter, Invincible Caviar, will run down the straight in the two-year-old race for fillies.

Speaking with Racing.com, trainer Peter Moody compared the similarities between the mother and daughter.

"She's the same colour and she's got a similar physique," he laughed.

"She's a big, strong girl with a big, long stride, that's probably where the similarities start and end at the moment. She's had two or three preparations and she's kept it all together.”

Among Black Caviar's 25-consecutive wins, eight were down the straight at Flemington, including three Lightning Stakes with the Hall of Fame trainer showing no initial concern about the straight circuit.

"Her Mum was very good down the straight,” he said.

Jockey Brian Higgins gets first crack at riding Black Caviar’s latest foul after taking some time away from riding.

“It’s very important for me. It gets me back there in town on Saturday and, if she gets the money, it will help the bank account because I’ve had a break,” Higgins said on RSN.

The famous trainer/jockey duo of Peter Moody and Luke Nolen will not be the case this Saturday with Nolen recovering from a heavy fall at Morphettville after winning the South Australian Oaks.

“I’m sure I’ll look after her on Saturday and hand the keys back to Luke but that’s the way it goes and we all know the rules,” Higgins added.

Invincible Caviar will jump from barrier 4 on Saturday.
