Kane Cornes names his number one forward line in the AFL

2021-06-13T19:25+10:00

Kane Cornes believes Geelong have the best forward line in the AFL.

The addition of Jeremy Cameron to the 2020 Grand Finalists has made them even more dangerous in front of goal, with the Cats firmly inside the top four with a 9-3 record.

The trio of Cameron, Tom Hawkins and Gary Rohan combined for 12 goals in Geelong’s 21-point win over Port Adelaide on Thursday, and Cornes thinks it’s time the Cats get more attention for their strong form.

“We need to start talking about the Cats a little bit more,” Cornes said on Channel Nine’s Sunday Footy Show.

“Their forward line I think is the best in the competition.

“Perhaps West Coast, but Oscar Allen doesn’t always play with (Josh) Kennedy, (Jack) Darling and Liam Ryan.

“This (Jeremy Cameron, Tom Hawkins, Gary Rohan, Patrick Dangerfield, Shaun Higgins and Brandan Parfitt) is the best forward mix for me in the comp, you can chuck in (Esava) Ratugolea and others there.

“When you’ve got Cameron, Hawkins, Rohan with I think Dangerfield playing 60% forward as he recovers from his ankle injury, good luck stopping that.

“They were just amazing on Thursday night, Jeremy Cameron, you can see why they gave up three first round draft picks for him.

“The three of Cameron, Hawkins and Gary Rohan are just on fire when they’ve played together this year.”

The Cats could claim premiership favouritism with a win over the Western Bulldogs next Friday at GMHBA Stadium.
