AFL working to bring forward Round 15 match

2021-06-21T14:55+10:00

The AFL is working to bring forward Saturday’s Port Adelaide-Sydney game.

The Power are due to host the Swans at Adelaide Oval at 7.40pm, with John Longmire’s men facing a crucial three-week stretch to stay in finals contention.

But with Sydney’s covid cluster growing to 11, the league is working to shift the night game into the afternoon so the Swans can fly in and out of Adelaide on the same day.

Like Geelong, the 7.40pm start means Sydney would not be able to leave Adelaide before the airport’s 7.40pm airport curfew.

While the Cats were able to secure an exemption to leave after that deadline before fog kept them grounded, the Power-Swans match is set to be moved forward.

The game could be held at the same time as the North Melbourne-Gold Coast match, which is set for 1.45pm at Blundstone Arena.
