Father-son draft hopefuls shine in NAB League return

2021-06-21T13:30+10:00

NAB League action return on the weekend as Victoria’s COVID restrictions eased, with father-son duo Nick Daicos and Sam Darcy continuing to show why they’re two of the hottest draft prospects this year.

Both Daicos and Darcy, who play for the Oakleigh Chargers, impressed despite their side’s 42-point loss to the Northern Knights.

Daicos, who is widely tipped to be this year’s number one draft pick, continued his stellar form with 37 disposals, three marks, two tackles and goal in a glittering display at Warrawee Park Oval.

Hype is also continuing to build around the 203cm Western Bulldogs father-son in Darcy, with the ruckman finding the ball 14 times and taking eight marks as well as kicking a goal.

Darcy missed the early part of the season with a foot injury, but has impressed since and is in the mix to be taken inside the top 20 of the draft.

Both players are expected to feature again for Oakleigh on Saturday when they take on Sandringham Dragons at RSEA Park.
