Midweek racing this afternoon is at Doomben. Just the 0.5mm of rain over the past 24 hours sees the track rated a soft (5) this morning.
The rail is out 11m which is about as far as I can remember it ever being, the early part of the day should be suited to runners racing up on the pace.

Foxwedge mare who looks well placed to break back into the winners circle this afternoon. She caught the eye with a fast finishing second here in Saturday class 6 company two starts back before failing at Eagle Farm in Listed grade last time out although she was far from disgraced.
Craig Williams jumps back aboard this afternoon & she’s down to class 5 level. Gets her chance to win.
Race 6 # 13 SHANJOMI
Filly from the Matt Dunn yard who gets a run thanks to scratchings & should prove hard to beat first up. Two impressive victories at her first couple of starts before clocking in 3rd behind the very smart Miami Fleiss here back in February.
No official trials leading in however already proven first up & solidly supported in the market to date suggests she’s ready to go fresh.

Race 8 # 11 EAST ASIA
Drops back in grade from the half-million dollar ‘The Coast’ at Gosford two back & the Listed Spear Chief at Eagle Farm last start to a Benchmark 72 this afternoon.
The drop back in distance is another plus for her as she likes to race up on the speed & hasn’t quite finished off in those two past events.
Confident she’ll look the winner at some stage in the straight, hopefully it’s on the line!
