Saints confirm star ruckman's return for Richmond bout

2021-06-23T15:18+10:00

St Kilda will regain ruckman Rowan Marshall for this Friday’s clash with Richmond.

The 25-year-old underwent surgery for a plantar fascia injury earlier in the year after being plagued by the issue.

Saints coach Brett Ratten confirmed the inclusion, adding that Marshall would likely be on a minutes restriction.

"We've got roughly a threshold, but we think we can do that with just some smart rotations and where he starts (on the ground). If we go over, we go over, that's part of the game, but we're pretty comfortable we'll get to where we want to," Ratten told reporters on Wednesday.

"I think it's not just what that combination do in the ruck, but what (they) can do for Max (King) as well.

"That helps our structure in front of the ball and makes us more threatening and it brings (Jack) Higgins and (Dan) Butler and these types into the game which is critical."

The Saints will also regain key forward Tim Membrey and midfielder Seb Ross after the pair missed the loss to Adelaide for personal reasons.
