Great Sporting Families - the Silvagnis

This week, SEN and McDonald’s are celebrating great sporting families.

With Macca’s turning 50, we have taken a look back at some of the best sporting families we have witnessed over the years.

On SEN Breakfast, Sam Edmund and David King took a look at the AFL, which has one of the most famous families - the Silvagni family - who have created a fantastic legacy at Carlton.

Sergio Silvagni played 239 games for the Blues between 1958 and 1971 and son Stephen Silvagni played 312 between 1985 and 2001.

Grandson Jack Silvagni continues the legacy at the Blues at the moment, having played 63 games. Stephen’s other son Ben spent time on the Blues’ list as well, while cousin Alex Silvagni played for both Fremantle and Carlton.
