"Multiple clubs" considering move for “gettable” Saint

2021-07-11T09:27+10:00

St Kilda midfielder Luke Dunstan’s stocks are continuing to rise as his form at AFL level trends upwards.

Dunstan, 26, broke into Brett Ratten’s side in Round 11 after undeniable VFL form for Sandringham and has averaged 27.5 disposals and more than seven clearances a game over the last six weeks.

As a result of his improving impact, Fox Footy’s Tom Morris believes multiple clubs has “inquired” about Dunstan’s availability.

“Luke Dunstan was told in late March after Round 1 that he wouldn’t be playing seniors at all this year,” Morris said on Fox Footy.

“At the end of the year he’s got a decision to make. My understanding is he’s not anywhere near signing a contract, there’s already been multiple clubs that have inquired about his services.

“This is an opinion - I think two-to-three year deals will be on offer from other clubs. He’s in no rush to make a decision. Other clubs feel he’s absolutely gettable.”

With his future remaining up in the air, AFL great Jordan Lewis believes Carlton should go after the ball-winner.

“He (Dunstan) has shown other suitors that he’s prepared to play a role and be quite aggressive in that role and perform at a high level,” Lewis said on Fox Footy.

“In terms of sides I think he might suit, maybe Carlton would be the side that would be suited most to his services.”
