Teague's future will be an "interesting watch" according to former assistant

Former Carlton assistant John Barker reckons it’ll be an “interesting watch” to see how David Teague’s future pans out after the Blues put in another lacklustre performance against the bottom-placed Roos.

Pressure is beginning to mount on Teague again after a dismal second half consigned the Baggers to their eleventh loss of the season.

Carlton’s inconsistency has been the theme all year. After a strong late showing against Collingwood last week, the Blues fell back into old habits with their defensive intent being almost non-existent against North.

Teague’s former right-hand man Barker is intrigued to see how his future pans out.

“The disappointment would be significant at the moment,” Barker told AFL Nation.

“There’s a lot of history when the dominoes start to fall, (there are) two teams that need coaches. Okay, how do we get our hands on the best guy?

“Carlton, Collingwood, obviously proud clubs. Expectations seem to be a lot higher at those clubs.

“How that plays out, it’ll be an interesting watch from here.”

The loss has put a massive dent in Carlton’s finals hopes. With matches against St Kilda, Gold Coast, Port Adelaide and GWS to come, the writing could be on the wall for Teague should they continue their current form .
