Adelaide veteran Daniel Talia says no formal contract offer has been put forward to him with is current deal due to expire at the end of the season.
The Age recently reported that the Crows will entertain offers for Talia who is yet to feature at AFL level this season due to groin and foot injuries.
The experienced Crows defender, who qualifies for unrestricted free agency, is focusing on returning to full fitness before the year is out.
“I’m trying to get back to full fitness and I imagine that will sort itself out at the end of the year,” Talia told SEN SA Breakfast.
“Nothing hard (new contract) has been put in front of me yet. I think all those decisions will be made after the year.
“I’m just trying to go about it in the best way I can and get as fit as possible – and I think that’s what the club want to see.
“I’m certainly doing everything I can to be as fit as I can towards the end of the year.
“I imagine by the time they make that decision I’ll almost be at full fitness. That’s my goal – trying to make it as hard possible for them not to re-sign me.
“That’s where my mind is at now and we’ll see how it goes at the end of the year. I’m sure the club will give me some more information as the year ends.”
Talia, 29, reiterated his desire to stay at the Crows and hasn’t considered the idea of seeking a move elsewhere.
“I’m not really in that headspace at the moment,” he said.
“My manager’s job is to do that, and he’d be doing that behind the scenes.
“I’m not looking elsewhere at the moment. I’ve been pretty clear with the club about wanting to stay and they know where my headspace is at.
“It’s a decision based on what they want to do with their list and whether they want me around or not.
“That’s where the situation is at at the moment.”
Talia’s Crows teammates Matt Crouch and Tom Lynch are also coming out of contract and eligible for free agency.
