Matt Rendell's ideal Victorian landing spot for Adam Cerra

Could North Melbourne be the ideal landing spot for Fremantle midfielder Adam Cerra?

The 21-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and weighing up a move home to Victoria.

Veteran AFL recruiter Matt Rendell believes Cerra would fit in perfectly in the young Kangaroos midfield.

“You need to pay a big quid to get him out for a start … I would be going to North,” Rendell told SEN Flip.

“In two or three years, they’re going to be awesome if they can keep all of their players.

“Ben Cunnington’s got a couple of years left tops, they’ve got Luke Davies-Uniacke who’s young, they’ve got Jy Simpkin, Jaidyn Stephenson, Tarryn Thomas in the midfield. Will Phillips and Charlie Lazzaro

“Phillips is going to be a gun, trust me. His under 18s, he got from contest to contest as good as Matt Rowell and was a year younger. Give him a year or two.

“I think they’re going to have a super midfield here. I think they have a really good blend of in and out mids and I think Cerra could slot in beautifully.

“I suspect it won’t be next year, possibly the year after they’ll challenge for the eight and the year after definitely in the eight.”
