Ange Postecoglou’s tough start as head coach of Celtic has continued.
Celtic slumped to a shock 2-1 loss to newly promoted Hearts on Sunday morning (AEST) in their Scottish Premier League opener.
It comes after Postecoglou’s side crashed out of this year’s Champions League after losing to Danish club Midtjylland in a second-round qualifier.
John Souttar, the brother of Socceroos defender Harry Souttar, netted the winning goal via a header on 89 minutes to give Hearts the win late on.
“We can’t afford time. We’ve got to bounce back and get results.” Postecoglou told Sky Sports.
“It’s a game we could have won, and we didn’t.
“Once we got back into the game, we looked comfortable and looked like we were going to take it out, but it didn’t happen.”
Celtic next play Czech side Jablonec on Friday morning (AEST) in a Europa League third-round first-leg qualifier.
Bitter rivals Rangers opened their title defence with a 3-0 win over Livingston.
