Melbourne midfielder Jack Viney has been referred directly to the Tribunal for serious misconduct against Gold Coast’s Sam Collins.
Viney was pictured planting his elbow into the neck of the Suns defender, with Match Review Officer opting to send the incident for the Tribunal to assess.
Speaking on Sportsday, Essendon great Matthew Lloyd said it wasn’t a good look for the hard-nosed Dees midfielder, who now faces a date with the Tribunal later this week.
“I had a look at it and it’s not a good look,” he said.
“He points the elbow in the neck of his opponent (Sam Collins) for far too long so I can see why it’s gone to the Tribunal.”
Melbourne beat Gold Coast by 98 points at Marvel Stadium on Sunday, with the incident itself occurring in the dying stages of the game.
