UPDATE

St Kilda has confirmed the appointment of Nick Dal Santo as the club’s new AFLW coach.

“I am incredibly happy and grateful for this opportunity,” Dal Santo said in a club statement.

“I’ve followed the journey of our AFLW program since its inception and am excited to be given the opportunity to contribute to the next chapter of women’s football at the Saints.

“We’ve had some excellent people involved in the program who have created a strong foundation for future success.

“Our list profile is very promising, and the women are hungry to make this footy club proud, something I personally identify with really strongly.

“I love this club and I can’t wait to get started.”

Dal Santo will continue his roles as head coach of St Kilda’s NGA and Community Football Ambassador.

EARLIER

Nick Dal Santo is set to be appointed as St Kilda's new AFLW coach, according to The Herald Sun.

Dal Santo, who currently heads up St Kilda’s Next Generation Academy, will reportedly replace Peta Searle following her departure from Moorabbin to pursue leadership opportunities beyond senior coaching in June.

The Saints finished 11th last AFLW season with a 3-6 win-loss record and are yet to play finals since entering the competition in 2020.

Dal Santo, a three-time All-Australian, played 260 games for the Saints before adding another 62 with North Melbourne.

The 37-year-old has been involved in St Kilda’s Academy program since 2017.
