SENZ has solidified itself as the home of football in New Zealand, announcing today it has signed a deal to take English Premier league matches across the airwaves.
The deal, with leading UK content provider, talkSPORT will see up to five matches a weekend aired across SENZ’s network of almost 30 stations.
And a dedicated app channel, known as SENZ Football, will also be aired on the SENZ app with 24/7 football content from the UK. The channel will be branded within the tile on the SENZ app for ease of use and to add to the vast array of choices already for listeners.
The move adds to the football presence already on SENZ with exclusive A-League rights to all matches including Wellington Phoenix. Respected commentator Daniel McHardy heads up the Phoenix coverage.
The English Premier League season, which began last weekend, runs until May. Saturday nights and early Sunday and Monday mornings will feature back-to-back matches before weekday programming such as Baz & Izzy for Breakfast kicks in from 6am Mondays.
This new streaming offering deepens SENZ’s commitment to be a sports platform for every fan, as we continue to build our sports content with both the local and international fans in mind.
SEN Group Radio Director Sam Thompson said: “talkSPORT is the UK’s only 24/7 sports radio network, and we are New Zealand’s only 24/7 radio network. This is a natural fit for SENZ as we continue to develop our digital sports platform.”
Sports Entertainment Network is a dynamic multi-platform sport and entertainment business, connecting brands with fans across radio, television, digital, publishing, stadiums, and events.
