The talented teenager Fremantle should trade every draft pick for

Fremantle great Paul Hasleby would be willing to trade every draft pick his old team has this year to Melbourne for Luke Jackson.

Jackson is the favourite to win the Rising Star award and has had a breakout year playing as a key forward and secondary ruckman next to Max Gawn.

The Dockers have their ruck department sorted with Sean Darcy and have a primary key forward in Matt Taberner, but a player like Jackson could slot between them nicely.

Hasleby believes the 19-year-old will be one of the stars of the league in a few seasons.

“If I’m Fremantle, I’m throwing everything at a key position player in Luke Jackson,” he told Sportsday WA.

“I’d be prepared to give up my whole draft for Luke Jackson.

“He’s the only player I would sell the shop for. Midfielders, other players, not interested. We’ve got that covered. We haven’t had two key forwards in the history of our team.

“I would give my whole draft this year for Luke Jackson because he could be the difference.

“I think in two to three years he’ll be the marquee player of the competition.”

Former Eagle Karl Langdon believes his old side should consider the same play for the West Australian teenager.

“If I was West Coast I would do the same thing. After Nathan Vardy, Bailey Williams is their next best and only developing tall. The next tallest is Harry Edwards,” Langdon said.

“West Coast don’t have anybody else.”

Jackson has already signed a contract extension with Melbourne through to the end of 2022.
