Gun Giants midfielder gives contract update

2021-08-24T17:02+10:00

GWS midfielder Jacob Hopper says he’s “comfortable” with where his contract negotiations are at.

The gun Giant, who comes out of contract at the end of the season, has elevated his game to another level in 2021, averaging career-best numbers in disposals, clearances and inside 50s.

Hopper told SEN’s Bob and Andy he’s “super happy” at the Giants and is fully focused on Saturday’s Elimination Final clash against rivals Sydney in Launceston.

“It’s a pretty stock answer,” Hopper said.

“It’s been one of those things throughout the year where everyone’s been really comfortable with where it’s at.

“I’m super happy, the club’s super happy, but I feel like the focus going into this year after last year was playing a level of footy to get us winning as many games as we possibly could.

“That’s been the focus. The focus this week is the finals.”

Hopper was one of two Giants selected in the 2021 All-Australian squad of 40.

The 24-year-old was selected with pick No.7 in the 2015 National Draft.
