Toby Greene has been referred directly to the tribunal after he was charged with Intentional Umpire Contact in Saturday’s elimination final win over Sydney.
Vision appeared to show the GWS star connect with umpire Matt Stevic’s shoulder and MRO Michael Christian judged the incident as a direct referral to the tribunal with the player unable to accept an early plea.

Speaking after Saturday’s win, Greene said he was “just talking” to Stevic about the game and that he “certainly would never touch him”.
If he’s found guilty, it could be season over for the 27-year-old with the Giants facing Geelong in a sudden death semi-final next weekend.
Greene will be hoping to get off after 2020 Brownlow medallist Lachie Neale was let off for a similar incident earlier in the season.
