Carlton is interested in bringing Geelong CEO Brian Cook to Ikon Park, reports The Age.
Caroline Wilson understands Cook, who will depart the Cats at season’s end, is being “headhunted” by the Blues in a bid to strengthen the club’s football department.
Carlton president Luke Sayers reportedly contacted Cook earlier this month over a senior leadership position.
“Although no formal offer has been put forward sources said that Carlton have earmarked Cook for a full-time position and most likely the top job at the club,” Wilson reported in The Age.
Sayers refused to guarantee CEO Cain Liddle and football boss Brad Lloyd's positions beyond 2021.
“I'm not sure anyone is guaranteed anything in life,” he told 3AW on Friday night.
Liddle and Lloyd joined the Blues in 2018.
