2021-09-06T14:40+10:00

The Brisbane Lions have confirmed Lachie Neale is weighing up his options in response to reports the Brownlow Medallist will request a trade to Fremantle.

CEO Greg Swann, football boss Danny Daly and coach Chris Fagan sat down with Neale on Monday afternoon and were made aware he was considering returning to Western Australia, a statement from the club has confirmed.

Neale did not formally request a trade, but has asked for time to have further discussions with his wife Jules on the subject with the couple pregnant and rumoured to want to raise a family in Perth.

The Brisbane superstar has two years to run on his contract, meaning any potential move will involve a trade.
