Carlton's interest in fringe Bulldog cools

2021-09-11T19:26+10:00

Patrick Lipinski won’t be going to Carlton during this year’s AFL trade period after the Blues’ interest cooled in the young midfielder, according to SEN’s Chief Sports Reporter Sam Edmund.

The Herald Sun had reported earlier in the week the 23-year old will request a trade to Collingwood or Carlton later in September.

He has a three-year contract on the table from the Bulldogs but is yet to put pen to paper after featuring just 11 times in 2021, taking his games total to 56 in five seasons.

However, Edmund believes one of Lipinski’s former suitors is no longer in the race.

“You can forget Pat Lipinski going to Carlton,” he told SEN's Crunch Time.

“The Blues don’t have an ongoing interest there.

“I think Collingwood have been rumoured (to be into him) for a long time and Hawthorn have a link to him as well.”

The young midfielder has averaged 17 disposals and two inside 50s a game throughout this season but appears to be down the pecking order at the club.
