Sam Edmund's trade update on a "watch this space" Hawk, Jarrod Brander and Jordan Dawson's likely suitor
With just two games of the AFL season left, the trade and free agency space is set to heat up in the coming weeks.
SEN Chief Sports Reporter Sam Edmund has provided an update on several names, including Tom Mitchell, Jordan Dawson’s likely landing spot and Geelong’s ongoing interest in a fringe Eagle.

Jordan Dawson (Sydney)
“My understanding is he’s destined for Port Adelaide,” he said on SEN’s Crunch Time.
“I think that’s where he wants to play and the feeling is mutual. 12 months after Aliir Aliir leaves Sydney for the Power, history is about to repeat with Jordan Dawson.
“Port Adelaide would have to part with pick 17, there’s going to be some massaging down here considering he’s 24 years of age, he’s a brilliant kick and he’s versatile.”
Jordan Dawson most likely to land at Port Adelaide - 12 months after Aliir Aliir made the same move. Sources say Dawson wanted to stay a Swan but player & club couldn’t find common ground on contract amid salary cap squeeze. Adel-Syd cost of living difference said to be a factor.

Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn)
He’s going to be a really interesting watch,” he said.
“It might be the case of Lachie Neale off the table and Tom Mitchell on, I think he’s far from certain to stay at Hawthorn and think he’s fairly keen to move on.
“Watch this space on Tom Mitchell.”
Jarrod Brander (West Coast)
“He’s still waiting to learn his fate at West Coast,” he said.
“I believe Geelong has an ongoing interest in Jarrod Brander, he was a boarder at Geelong Grammar before being drafted high and I’m told there’s an ongoing interest there.
“The Cats think they can turn him into something special.”
