Melbourne midfielder Nathan Jones has announced his retirement as the club prepares for its Grand Final appearance.
Jones will not be a part of the 23-man side fighting for the Dees’ premiership as he has been stuck on the outer and has since returned home to be with his partner, who has given birth to twins.
The 33-year-old remained loyal to the Demons across his career and will go down as one of the club’s great players.
Jones played seven games for Melbourne in 2021 and 301 total across his career.
He won three best and fairest awards in a row across 2012, 2013 and 2014 and captained the side between 2014 and 2019.
