Rugby league great Brett Kimmorley has updated his rolling Kangaroos side after week two of the NRL finals series.
With the Sea Eagles getting the job done over the Roosters, Kimmorley decided to make a swap on the wing.
As Brian To’o missed Penrith’s clash with Parramatta through injury, Kimmorley decided to hand the prolific Reuben Garrick a start.
As the league’s top point scorer in 2021, Kimmorley believes the Manly flyer deserves his shot in his rolling national side.
Kimmorley explained why Garrick was picked ahead of other wingers on SEN 1170’s Higher Ground.
“Josh Addo-Carr is still injured, but he might be back this weekend,” Kimmorley said.
“Brian To’o is also unavailable, and (Dane) Gagai’s on one wing due to his performance last week against Penrith.
“I had a gentleman’s name who played for Manly the other night … I was thinking Jason Saab, the speedster, but we’ll go with Reuben Garrick.
“That’s a reward for finishing at the top of the points scoring chart.
“We get to the Grand Final, and a lot of the players who make it become test players a few weeks later.”
Listen to Brett Kimmorley and Chris Warren each Sunday match day from 12-3pm on SEN 1170 or via the SEN App.
