Brooklyn Hustle “never been in this good a shape” heading into Group 1 Moir

2021-09-23T10:37+10:00

Brooklyn Hustle will be chasing an elusive Group 1 win in Friday's Moir Stakes at The Valley.

The Jason Warren and Dean Krongold-trained mare is progressing nicely towards her first-up run and the Mornington-based duo “couldn’t be happier with her” as a mouth-watering clash under lights looms.

Brooklyn Hustle has had nine Group 1 starts, but is yet to fill a place at the highest level, however in-form jockey Brett Prebble might turn that luck around as he will partner the flashy mare.

“She’s spot on, I’m really happy with her,” Warren said on SEN Track’s Bensley.
“I hope Miss Albania rolls forwards along with Portland Sky, I’m just sort of hoping that they roll along and put pressure on Profiteer and making sure it’s a genuinely run race.

“Certainly wouldn’t want it to be a sit and sprint because our girl is going to be in the second half of the field and needing a bit of luck.”

The daughter of Starspangledbanner has not raced since finishing 15th in the Group 1 Tatt’s Tiara at Eagle Farm in June, however, Warren feels that time in Queensland has brought her along perfectly and has ensured she’s ready to fire in Friday night’s feature.

“I think it’s really put her in good stead leading into this prep, she’s maintained her fitness, she’s a more seasoned mare and I’d say you’ll see a more rounded product tomorrow (Friday) night,” he added.

“She’s focused on her job and she’s a tank now. I couldn’t be happier with her.

“I said to my pre-race report that went out to the owners, and said we’ve never had her this well and she’s never been in this good a shape going into a race.”

Brooklyn Hustle is currently rated a $13 chance with Profiteer holding favouritism at the $4 quote.
