Potential number one draft pick stuns in thrilling SANFL finals performance

2021-09-25T09:46+10:00

Potential number one draft pick Jason Horne-Francis has lit up Adelaide Oval in a SANFL prelim just weeks before his AFL dream will be realised.

Playing for South Adelaide against Glenelg on Friday night, Horne-Francis kicked three goals in a glittering performance as well as having 24 touches and laying four tackles.

The 18-year-old has impressed all season at SANFL level, playing regularly in his draft year and looms as a ready-made mid-forward option.

Despite Horne-Francis’ heroics for South Adelaide, Glenelg were too strong and prevailed by 28 points.

North Melbourne currently holds picks one in November's National Draft, with the decision whether to bid on Collingwood father-son young gun Nick Daicos or select Horne-Francis looming large.

Horne-Francis enters the draft ready to go and would slot into David Noble’s side seamlessly in 2022 after a strong run of recent form.
