SEN host Dwayne Russell has listed his top 10 most “box office” AFL players looking ahead to the 2022 season.
Speaking on SEN’s Dwayne’s World, Russell declared veteran Sydney star Lance Franklin the most box office player in the competition heading into next year as he nears the magical 1000-goal mark.
Franklin, 34, is just five goals away from joining Gary Ablett Snr (1031), Doug Wade (1057), Jason Dunstall (1254), Gordon Coventry (1299) and Tony Lockett (1360) in the exclusive 1000-goal club.
“I’ve got Lance Franklin at number one. He’s going to kick his 1000th goal next year,” Russell said.
“In terms of box office and who you’ll be tuning into watch next year, I still think Lance Franklin will be number one.”
Franklin, Toby Greene, Jake Stringer, Dustin Martin and Liam Ryan make up the top five in Russell’s list.
