Fremantle tall Rory Lobb has been linked with a shock return to former club GWS.
AFL Media’s Damian Barrett understands the contracted Docker is open to a move to the Giants and that a “conversation of significance” has taken place between the two clubs.
The 28-year-old has two years to run on a contract worth a reported $700,000 a season.
“I can tell you there is a lot going on between the Fremantle footy club and the GWS footy club over a player well known to both of those clubs,” Barrett told AFL Trade Radio’s The Late Trade.
“That player being Rory Lobb about a potential return to the Giants.
“There's a lot to play out here, it is not a done deal, but I can establish that a conversation of significance has taken place and I expect that conversation to continue.
“The wheels are in motion to get him back to the Giants. That’s a missing link for the Giants right now.”
Fremantle GM of Football Peter Bell told AFL Trade Radio on Wednesday that Lobb is a required player for 2022.
The ruck-forward signed a five-year deal to join the Dockers from GWS at the end of 2018.
