Hawkesbury Race 1 – 6. KOBENHAVN
Two-year old race to kick off proceedings at Hawkesbury and we’re dealing with just two exposed horses out of the seven, who both ran last week in the Gimcrack/Breeders. Those two in Okami Miss and One Destiny were relatively disappointing, albeit in good races, so I’m looking at the first starters.
Of those, the Snowden trained Kobenhavn caught the eye after a very stylish trial at Randwick over the 740m. Ran in slow time, but the I Am Invincible filly looked to have a lot more to give and was strong through the line.
Looks good speed here from the likes of Ferrari Man and Antoine so she can position up just in behind the speed and get last crack. Forms of Fear our main danger but potentially a poor draw from 1.
Hawkesbury Race 2 – 10. LOCH EAGLE
Another first starter this time for the Lees yard who has trialled up exceptional for his debut. They’ve taken their time with him, but he finally arrives to the races in what looks a very limited maiden.
Tipping he progresses to better races than this, looks well-schooled now and the 1400m first up won’t pull him up. Drawn wide but they find Bowman and if the tracks fair he should be too good for these.
Hawkesbury Race 6 – 5. LAMBDOMA ENERGY
Siege goes to Goulburn today so note deductions here. With it out I think Lambdoma Energy should be favourite. Won at this course last start over the 1000m in a very slowly run race so his effort to win from the back had good merit.
Clocked the second fastest last 600m of the meeting in the process and was soft on the line. May have unearthed the key to him riding him cold. Sets up nicely again here out to the 1100m with Bowman in the saddle. Happy to take on Huzzah. Not sold on it’s form line and is a break between runs.
