Report: Crows and Swans strike deal for Dawson

2021-10-13T07:01+11:00

Jordan Dawson will join Adelaide on deadline day after a deal was struck with the Sydney Swans, according to multiple reports.

Fox Footy’s Tom Morris and AFL Media’s Cal Twomey have reported that the Swans have accepted an offer from the Crows for the 24-year-old to return to his native South Australia.

Dawson will head to the Crows who have given up a future first-round selection to Sydney.

The Crows had obtained that pick from Melbourne via a four-way trade which also involved St Kilda and the Western Bulldogs.

Adelaide and Sydney had previously been unable to come to terms on a deal for Dawson, continuing to search for common ground, before the Swans accepted the offer on Tuesday night.

The trade is expected to be finalised on Wednesday afternoon, long before the 7:30pm transfer deadline.

Dawson, who has played 64 AFL games, enjoyed a career-best season for the Swans in 2021, finishing third in the club’s best and fairest.
