Nathan Fyfe will face a delayed start to the pre-season after scans revealed a bone crack in his shoulder.
The two-time Brownlow Medallist missed the back-half of the 2021 season with an ongoing shoulder issue and underwent surgery in July.
The Herald Sun revealed on Wednesday morning that Fyfe requires more surgery and will not be ready for the December 6 return to training.
Fremantle General Manager of Football Peter Bell confirmed the injury, saying the star midfielder’s recovery had “plateaued”, prompting the additional scan.
The 30-year-old struggled through the shoulder injury across 2021, but after multiple dislocations opted to go in for the initial surgery.
Contracted until the end of 2023 and has played 202 career games for the Dockers.
