Black Ferns preparing for historic 100th Test match

2021-10-28T08:10+11:00

The Black Ferns are preparing for their first match in 26 months, after a Covid interrupted period has disallowed them to play any Test matches.

New Zealand are currently on tour in the UK and will play England in their historic 100th Test Match, one in which they’ve had to wait two and a half years for.

The last time the Black Ferns took the field was August 10, 2019 against Australia, which they won 47-10 at Perth Stadium.

Black Ferns centre Chelsea Alley said on SENZ Breakfast that the squad is “obviously so excited and it’s a massive, massive occasion coming up this weekend.

“Not only (is it) our first Test in two and a half years which is just crazy to think, but yeah (it’s) the Black Ferns’ 100th Test ever.

“(It’s) a massive occasion for us obviously playing against England, who are our biggest rivals I would say in World Rugby, so it’s going to be huge.”

The Black Ferns will face England on Monday, November 1 (3:30AM NZDT).
