Cam & Browny's top 10 moments from the spring

2021-11-09T09:05+11:00

That’s a wrap!

When we look back at the 2021 spring carnival it will be remembered as being all about the champion racehorses and the champion jockeys.

Whether it be jockey James McDonald who announced himself as the best jockey in the country and maybe even the world with his incredible display of horsemanship in the Flemington Carnival, riding a record-breaking 10 winners over the four-days.

Or was it the veterans in our great game, Damien Oliver (49) and Brett Prebble (44) who sent a friendly reminder to their fellow riders that they aren’t slowing down anytime soon.

And of course, the thing that we love the most about racing, the horses.

Verry Elleegant, trained by Chris Waller and ridden by J Mac, declared herself as Australia’s best racehorse when winning the Melbourne Cup by four lengths, notching her 10th Group 1 win and ultimately justifying her champion status.

Moreover, if you've been following the Spring Carnival, the horse everybody is talking about is Incentivise. The five-year-old finished eighth in a Toowoomba maiden in March and fast forward eight months, he’s a three-time Group 1 winner and started the shortest-priced favourite since Phar Lap in this years Melbourne Cup.

Having seen it all firsthand, SEN Track’s Cam Luke and Campbell Brown have listed their top 10 moments over the past few months.
